Water Heater Pressure Switch Open

The pressure switch which is normally open switch is off senses the drop in pressure and closes to complete the circuit switch is on.

This is fixed in my prior video. Turn on the switch for the water heater. Use an ohmmeter to check if the pressure switch is opening or closing properly when heat is called for. The proper degree of negative pressure differential is necessary to maintain furnace operation.

Pressure change due to blockage so it opens or closes the circuit sending the impulse to the circuit board for further action. Unit has been installed for 19 months no problems. First turn the power of the furnace off. Now use the ohmmeter to check whether the pressure switch is functioning properly.

Next take off one of the power hoses and blow on it. Also noticed the control board was blinking red. Plug in one of the two wires you disconnected from the pressure switch into the thin piece of metal thus making a jumper out off the flat metal. Upon turning on the switch you should immediately here the blower for the powervent kick on.

Came home to no heat. When your heater is displaying water switch open it does not always require the pressure switch to be adjusted. Open contacts mean that there is no flow of electricity so that the unit won t run. Is this for gas or air where is it can it be replaced or do i need to replace the blower unit. If your furnace is showing a pressure switch error it can be concerning.
